"The first cohort has now landed in Pendleton and this past Thursday we had our orientation. Innovators took a tour of the Pendleton UAS Range, met the mentors of the Accelerator, learned more about the program, and were awarded their first grant funding.

Along with the orientation, the startups met with the interns that will be working with them throughout the program. These interns are from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) as well as from Eastern Oregon Workforce Board (EOWB), with the goal to have a career in technology. Executive Director, Joseph Wyno commented, “We are committed to seeing that our accelerator program not only benefits the startups who will accelerate the future of unmanned systems but also have a positive impact on the community in which we live by creating pathways for our youth to discover to pursue their dreams in the unmanned aerial and robotics systems space.”

We received a nice turnout for the reception in the evening — thank you to everyone that was able to attend.
